Dual Override to Revive Capcom’s Blue Bomber in 2027

Capcom has had a tough time in recent years, but not everyone can get in on the fun. Capcom’s former (still?) mascot, Mega Man, has been missing in action for nearly a decade, with 2018’s Mega Man 11 being the last core entry in the series. Well, Robot Masters beware, because today at The Game Awards a new entry in the Mega Man series was revealed.

Mega Man: Dual Override looks to deliver what fans of the series want – good old-fashioned 2D platforming action, complemented by sharp, shadowy visuals. My palms already feel sweaty. The end of the trailer also appears to show a standard Mega Man transforming into a more advanced version, perhaps hinting at what the “Dual Override” subtitle means. You can actually take part in shaping the next Mega Man, as Capcom is holding a Robot Master contest, where the winner gets to design one of the game’s bosses.

Mega Man: Dual Override will be coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 sometime in 2027.
