Intel Arc B390 Reportedly Delivers 7,000 Points In Spy Graphics Time, Beats Radeon 890M And Arc 140T With Ease

More benchmarks are appearing online, showing a big jump in Xe3-based iGPU performance on Panther Lake CPUs.

Arc B390 Reportedly Delivers 2X Score vs Radeon 890M in Time Spy Graphics; Slightly Faster Than RTX 3050

It’s well known that 3D Mark testing favors Intel GPUs and higher scores in 3D Mark applications don’t necessarily translate to similar performance in games. Even so, the new benchmark numbers for the upcoming Xe3-based iGPUs in the Panther Lake series look too good. @OneRaichu reports that the Panther Lake iGPU, featuring 12 Xe3 cores, can deliver good performance 7,000 points in Time Spy Graphics.

This particular variant is a flagship iGPU called the Intel Arc B390, which has been spotted many times in various leaks recently. In one leak, we saw it perform as well as a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU, and a recent leak puts it above a GeForce RTX 3050 desktop GPU, which is very impressive. Take this report with a grain of salt as the leaker didn’t share any screenshots, and it’s still an early engineering sample.

That said, if the Arc B390 manages to deliver 7,000 points in Time Spy graphics, that’s already around 2X the performance level of the RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M, which is excellent integrated graphics. It also beats the Arc 140T on Arrow Lake-H by the same margin, bringing a significant generational upgrade, unlike the CPU, one of which looks to have performance on par with its predecessor. Compared to high-end integrated graphics like the Radeon 8050S and Radeon 8060S, the Arc B390 still easily falls short, but keep in mind that Panther Lake is not a direct competitor to the Strix Halo.

Compared to an RTX 3050 desktop GPU, it’s about 12% faster, but in gaming, the performance difference may not be the same. @OneRaichu further reports that the Arc B390 can deliver solid results 6,000 points on the Steel Nomad Light as well, which scores nearly 90% higher than the 890M and about 80% better than the Arc 140T. It looks like Panther Lake has stepped up a notch in the iGPU segment, and this makes it an excellent CPU family for high-end gaming handhelds, which should be much cheaper than Strix Halo-based handhelds.
