Intel may have teased us with its upcoming “Big Battlemage” Arc GPU in its AI Playground utility, which packs an impressive 32 GB of VRAM.
Intel Arc GPU With 32 GB Memory Spotted In AI Playground v3.0.0 Guide, Could Be Highly Anticipated “Big Battlemage”
Intel has released the AI Playground (Alpha) software utility v3.0.0, adding new features and support that will be optimized for its Arc family of GPUs, especially the upcoming Panther Lake lineup based on the Xe3 architecture. But while software updates should be a highlight, it looks like Intel is hiding a surprise in the User Guide.
As discovered by @Haze2K1, this guide lists an unnamed Arc GPU with a VRAM or memory capacity of 32 GB. The GPU was used to produce an image of the AI Panther rocking a necklace with the “12Xe” logo. We know that Intel has not released any 32 GB GPUs in the Arc A-series or B-series families, with a maximum capacity of 24 GB for the Arc Pro B60, and 48 GB for the dual-die solution.
So it looks like someone at Intel, who had access to a 32 GB Arc GPU, ran the software to produce the image. This may be our first look at an example of an Intel Big Battlemage graphics card running on the BMG-G31 GPU. The GPU is expected to feature a 256-bit bus interface, resulting in a 16 GB or 32 GB model.
With at least four SKUs in the works, the consumer gaming variant may have 16 GB of VRAM, while the PRO offering has a higher capacity of 32 GB. But if Intel plans to offer a limited edition gaming model with 32GB of VRAM, that would be great, and match the VRAM of the fastest graphics card currently, NVIDIA’s RTX 5090.
But there is another possibility; Intel has a shared GPU memory replacement option in its graphics software. It can allocate a dedicated amount of system memory to the GPU. It’s possible that Panther Lake laptops with 64 GB of memory or higher could share a 32 GB memory pool with the GPU, but we can’t say for sure. But this makes complete sense.

While it’s not the Big Battlemage Arc GPU that everyone is excited to see, it’s clear that Intel is working on an Arc GPU update on the BMG-G31 chip. Several new supports have been added in recent months, and with CES 2026 fast approaching, we should expect an update from Intel as it will most likely be the only major GPU update for the first half of 2026.
