Today’s Xbox Partner Preview event featured 16 games and announcements, one of which was a new trailer for IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. While this isn’t a showcase of major new gameplay, an in-depth explanation of the game’s mechanics, or even a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development, it does highlight a key element of every James Bond video game: the cars that Bond drives.

This short, fifty-second trailer shows off Bond’s Aston Martin Valhalla, a stunning car even without all the special agent gadgets that Q explains in the trailer’s narration.

“Inspired by the breakthrough Aston Martin Valkyrie and combined with advanced Formula 1 technology, Valhalla showcases mastery of aerodynamics, race-derived engineering and incredible craftsmanship.,” wrote IO Interactive’s senior global communications manager, Yann Roskell, in an Xbox Wire post.”Limited to just 999 units worldwide, this supercar sets the standard for automotive innovation, showcasing unrivaled speed and precision.“

OK, maybe it would be better if we took a deeper look at the gameplay or got more insight into how the game was made, similar to what we saw back in September during the State of Play presentation. But a James Bond game will live and die by how well it truly captures the appeal of a character that has captivated fans for decades.

Bond’s taste in gadgets, clothing, and of course, cars, all mix with that fascination, so it makes sense that IO Interactive would put something like this together to better showcase how they’re trying to capture the essence of James Bond.

That said, hopefully we won’t have to spend too long before we get a more detailed explanation of what we can expect from the game before it releases on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 27, 2026.
