Assassin’s Creed Shadows broke 5 million players, but Ubisoft reported a lower performance than expected for Rainbow Six Siege

When reporting the financial results of Q1 2025, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows continued to perform well. After reaching 3 million players at the end of March, this game has now exceeded 5 million unique players, who collectively committed 2 billion stealth murder, took 1 billion kilometers, and caressing 38 million animals. However, the quarterly financial results of the publisher still reported lower than the anticipated clean booking, mostly due to problems with the siege of Rainbow Six, as recorded in the statement below by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot:

The first quarter gives various results. On the positive side, Assassin’s Creed Shadows gave his hope, with now more than 5 million unique players since it was launched, and Rainbow Six Siege X received a very positive player feedback thanks to new gameplay and an upgraded feature that encouraged the growth of significant player involvement. However, the expenditure of players in Rainbow Six Siege faces temporary but significant disturbances due to the problem of determining technical pricing, which has now been identified and handled. Apart from this one -time setback, the potential growth of strong games with strong traction in the activity and expenses in the game.

Ubisoft also noted that two other causes for lower net orders including ‘partnerships that are now expected to be realized in Q2 and, at a lower level, the impact of unfavorable foreign exchange’.

Guillemot then added that Ubisoft will continue to create what is called a creative house. The hope is that this business unit will increase the creative vision and business performance. The first is, of course, a subsidiary announced earlier this year, which will oversee Pelangi Six, Far Cry, and Assassin’s Creed franchise. As new confirmed, it will be led by the son of Christopher Derennes and Yves Guillemot himself.
