Next-Gen Xbox Console Will Be”A Very Premium, Very High-End, Curated Experience,” Says Xbox CEO

Xbox President and CEO Sarah Bond has dismissed the notion of players wondering if Xbox is still making consoles and hardware. The next generation Xbox is on the way; there doesn’t seem to be any question about it. However, the question of what will be packed into the new box and what it will look like, won’t be answered any time soon. In fact, according to Bond in a new interview, we can expect it to be three things: a “a very premium, very luxurious and curated experience.” It’s also worth noting that these three things probably also mean a fourth: very expensive.

In a new interview with Mashable, discussing the ROG Xbox Ally

Basically, taking the experience you had on the ROG Xbox Ally/Ally That’s the rumor Mashable is referring to.

The start of Bond’s response was a comment on what Mashable had said about the next generation of hardware, saying, “I can tell you that you’re right, that the next generation of consoles will be a very premium, very sophisticated, curated experience.“

Then, pointing to the ROG Xbox Ally X sitting between him and Mashable’s tech editor, Bond continued, “You’re starting to see some of the thought we’ve had in this handheld, but I don’t want to give it all away..”

On the one hand, this is just an executive hyping his company’s next big product. Of course he would say it would be “premium, very luxurious” experience. On the other hand, his brief comments about how we’re already starting to see where Microsoft and Xbox are thinking about moving the hardware forward in the ROG Xbox Ally X, are arguably the most interesting part of this.

An Xbox console where you can access and play all the games in your PC game library across multiple PC launchers and a digital storefront, which provides a console experience for your PC games, does sound like the kind of thing that could make Xbox consoles interesting again.

If the rumors are to be believed, we’ll see if that becomes a reality sometime in 2027.
