The next generation of AMD Cellular CPU lineup reportedly will add more core to the upper class SKU but will not focus much on IGPU performance.
Configuration of Medusa Point SKU Rumors based in AMD Zen covers 10 cores for Apu Ryzen 5 and 7 and up to 22 cores for Ryzen 9 Series
Zen 6 CPU should be one of the first to bring a CDD that can boast more core than the previous generation. Until now, Zen 1- Zen 5 can only carry up to 8 cores on one CCD, but Zen 6 chiplets can increase the number to 12. We have discussed this in the previous post, and one of the leading pursuers has shown the same thing.
One of the main differences between the Strix points based in Zen 5 and Medusa Point Zen 6 will come to be the size of the die. Apus Point Medusa will be a little bigger, as we reported before, which is why Medusa Point will use the FP10 package. Because it will be a monolithic die, it can reach a 4+8 core configuration and other components will be used on separate silicon silicon.

As reported by @Harukaze5719, the Medusa Point chip will bring a 4C (classic) core configuration + 4D (solid) + 2LP (low power) to the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 5 series, accompanied by 8 computing units for IGPU based on RDNA 3.5+ architecture. However, AMD can take a slightly different approach to APU Ryzen 9 Series and reportedly will add a special 12-core CCD above the 10-core configuration.
This will allow Ryzen 9 APU to achieve a shocking 22-ini configuration, which is not only much higher than the Strix point but also exceeds the maximum number of cores in the Halo Strix chip. Nevertheless, integrated graphs will be maintained with only 8 computing units, which are surprising because Strix Point carries 16 Cu. This makes the Medusa point feel slower than the Strix point in the graphics workload, but it does not always mean that the performance will be reduced by half, especially when the chip gets a little RDNA 3.5 core.
As shown by @9550pro, Radeon 860M, which carries 8 Cu, about 23% slower than Radeon 890M according to Notebookcheck, which offers 12 Cu. This is still a real ranking, but Medusa Point tends to target the premium performance segment because the successor to Strix Halo will be very focused on achieving better graphic skills.
