ExeKiller’s ‘CyberWestern’ Action/Adventure Game Reappears with Gameplay Overview

Polish indie developer Paradark Studios still working on interesting things’CyberWestern‘ first person action/adventure game Killer Exe.

Paradark shared its latest gameplay overview today New Game+ Showcasereignited hope in the project. The previous gameplay trailer was released in early 2023, while the debut trailer first premiered in late 2021, coinciding with the game’s announcement.

In ExeKiller, you take on the role of Denzel Fenixa licensed bounty hunter working for the powerful Helion Company. The task is simple: track down the fugitive and extract it SOUL. SOUL is a digital implant used to monitor and control populations.

In this world, survival is not cheap. Players should always be aware of how they manage and carry their equipment, considering limited inventory space and the high price of essential supplies. The desert environment itself is a threatwith radiation zones, deadly sandstorms, and extreme temperatures all potentially deadly for Denzel.

Firearms are an important part of the gaming experience, as is experimentation, according to the creators. Players can combine weapons, gadgets, environmental hazards, and special abilities to approach encounters creatively or avoid combat altogether. Denzel can enhance his perception through cybernetic implants, allowing players to uncover hidden elements, gather narrative clues, and read the environment, rather than relying on waypoints.

Perhaps the most interesting part of ExeKiller is that missions are not linear. There is no defined play style or guided solution; instead, players are given clear objectives, but are free to approach each contract through stealth, dialogue, direct combat, or a combination of the three. Not every job has to end with murder. Paradark promises a choice-based narrative where players shape NPC behavior, dialogue, and the broader narrative with their decisions, leading to multiple possible outcomes and endings.

This game is currently in development for PC, and you can put it on your wishlist Steam. However, Paradark stated that a console version is also planned.
