WB Montréal games might make other DC Comics direct service games

In October 2024, a job list revealed that WB Games Montréal recruited for new games based on the DC Comics license. It was quite surprising in himself, given that the developer had only worked in such a game, from Batman 2013: Arkham Origins to Gotham Knights in 2022. However, now, another job list shows that this project is designed as a direct service, which is enough to ruffle the feathers of many fans.

The job list is for executive producers who will oversee many aspects of game development, including planned direct service operations, as stated in the quote below.

As an executive producer, you will lead the development of a high -quality AAA game based on one of the iconic IPs of the Warner Bros Catalog and DC Comics. You will oversee the entire life cycle of production – from the concept to launched and outside – ensuring the game meets the quality standards, innovation, and the highest involvement of players. You will work with the Creative Director and Studio Leadership to harmonize the creative vision with the reality of production, manage the cross -functional team, and ensure that the project provides timely, according to the budget, and for critical and commercial success.

Production Supervision:

• Oversee all phases of development, from concepts to direct post-launch operations.
• Make sure the strong QA and the operation process are directly available to support the experience of high quality players.

Market execution and readiness:

• Oversee post-launch content and direct service strategy, ensuring the involvement of players who are sustainable.

Anyone who follows Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill Justice League will understand why many fans are quite disappointed with prospects. Made specifically as a direct service game based on the popular team of DC Comics Antiheroes, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League failed so spectacularly, causing EBITDA $ 200 million to be lower and decreased income from Hogwarts’ heritage which was very successful from Warner Bros.
