Apple’s First Developer Version of iOS 26.2 Beta Has Landed, MacOS Tahoe 26.2 Still Missing

Apple just launched the first developer builds for the beta versions of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and VisionOS 26.2.

We noted on Sunday that Apple would likely release the first developer version of iOS 26.2 beta today. Well, that prediction has now come true.

Regarding the content, Apple iOS 26.2 beta 1 and iPad OS 26.2 beta 1 are currently limited to developers. So, it’s unclear what will change with Apple’s upcoming software update cadence.

That said, Apple is bringing three major changes to the Podcasts app in iOS 26.2:

1. Apple will automatically create podcast episode chapters, facilitating easy navigation.
2. Apple Podcasts will now include the ability to “view and follow mentioned podcasts directly from the player and their transcripts.”
3. The ‘From This Episode’ feature will allow users to “quickly access links shared in the podcast on the episode page.”

Additionally, the Apple News app is now slated to get four new sections:

1. Sport
2. Puzzles
3. Political
4. Food

Additionally, with iOS 26.2 beta 1, Apple introduced a Liquid Glass slider to customize the watch face on the lock screen. The slider will let you adjust the opacity of the clock to your liking.

Of course, Apple has also launched the first developer builds for watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and VisionOS 26.2. Interestingly, the Cupertino giant has now launched the first developer build for macOS Tahoe 26.2. However, it will arrive in the coming days.
